Home Remedies for Sunburn

Tea

Take some tea bags and make a batch of boiled tea as it is used to prepare a tea. Place tea in the refrigerator to cool. Once it has cooled dip a rag in and put on burned area. The titanic acid in the tea helps burn turns to tan. It was used in burn wards for years as it is a best home remedy for sunburns.

Coconut Oil

Coconut oil is very gentle for skin. One should massage whole body with coconut oil before going out in the sun. This provides protection from sunburn. This is a useful home remedy for sunburn.

Remedy for Sunburn

Lettuce Leaves

Take some lettuce leaves and boil them for 10 minutes. Strain the leaves from it and cool the water. Apply the chilled water on the burnt skin. It is an effective remedy for sunburn.

Tomato

Take puree of 2 tomatoes, cucumber puree and mix them with lemon juice. Apply this paste all over the suntanned and sun burnt skin. Leave it for 15-20 minutes to dry. Now, dab the puree again. Repeat the process 3 times and let it dry thoroughly, then rinse off. You can use this remedy for a week and see the difference. It is helpful in soothing the burnt area and also it adds a glow to the skin. This is an effective remedy for treating sunburn.

Natural Treatment for Sunburn

Naturally Treat Sunburn with Milk

Milk is the best natural treatment for any kind of burn and also sunburn. Take a cloth and dip it in milk and put it over the burnt area. It provides relief to the burn.

Naturally Treat Sunburn with Cabbage

Take some cabbage leaves after boiling mash them. Apply this pulp over the tanned and burnt area. Leave it for 15 minutes to dry. Wash with cold water. Repeat the process for at least a week. The natural treatment is protective and soothing balm to remove sunburns.

Treatment for Sunburn

Treat Sunburn with Barley

Prepare a paste with barley, turmeric and yogurt after adding equal proportions of three of them. Apply the paste over the affected area it is a great treatment for sunburn to provide relief.

Treat Sunburn with Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera is a wonderful treatment for burnt skin. Take some leaves of the plant and mash them. After mashing mix them with lemon juice. Apply the paste all over the affected areas. It cleanses, clears and nourishes the skin.

Sunburn Cure

Cure Sunburn using Cucumber

Take a cucumber and cut in slices. Apply the slices of cucumber over the burnt area. The slices help to reduce the inflammation of the skin. This is one of the best sunburn cures. You can also use potato in place of cucumber.

Cure Sunburn using Turmeric

Take 1 tablespoon of turmeric powder and add 3 tablespoon of milk in it. Apply this over the burnt area. Rub in circular motions and then rinse off. It not only helps to remove tan it also helps remove fine facial hair.

Sunburn and Diet

Antioxidants like vitamin E and vitamin C are very helpful in curing sunburn. Eat good quality protein foods like meat, egg, fish, and chicken and so on. Eat lots of fruits. They will supply essential vitamins and minerals. Also one should drink good amount of water.

Avoidable Things

Avoid lotions that contain topical anesthetic medications because you can become sensitized and then allergic to that medicine. Avoid going in direct heat of sun from 10 A.M to 3 P.M. Do not use harsh soaps to wash sun burn.
