Zone Diet And Weight Loss

The Zone diet is an excellent diet for weight loss. This is because people who follow this diet will start eating more of healthy food and less of junk food. The Zone diet has been adopted by many people who are eager to lose weight as it enables them to shed weight quickly.

Developed by Dr. Barry Sears, the Zone diet is based on the consumption of specific foods in the right ratios. It is based on the fact that you can prevent weight gain by altering insulin levels which will enable the body to function at an optimum level.

Importance is given to the intake of proteins, fats and carbs in the correct proportion in the Zone diet which will help in proper insulin secretion. Insulin’s correct level in the body can quicken the metabolic rate. Food groups must be consumed in the ratio of 30% Fat, 30% protein and 40% Carbs. The diet is similar to what was eaten by our forefathers.

As your body gets tuned to the high protein diet, the cravings for carbohydrates will slowly die down. This weight loss diet also stresses on the importance of including lean proteins and good cholesterol which can lead to a healthy heart. Rapid weight loss can result because the diet is essentially a low-carb and a low calorie diet which gives quick results.
