Why white bread is bad for you?
White bread is actually made using refined white flour and is not good for your health. You have to stay away from eating white bread if you wish to avoid type-2 diabetes, lose some weight and improve your health.White bread contains so many unwholesome constituents and very little fiber and healthy nutrients which are vital for a stable metabolism and a strong digestive system. Since refined white flour is made from whole wheat grain all the goodness of it gets removed owing to the refining process. Traces of bran and husk are removed and any beneficial constituents that remain are destroyed by the chemical bleaching agents during the bleaching process. Also gluten may be added to white bread which may cause allergy in a lot of people.
Eating white bread produced in mass quantities is useless because it is bland and devoid of any useful dietary fiber. Although home made loaves and small bakery bread taste somewhat better the refined white flour used in their production makes them unhealthy.
Eating white bread can also raise the level of bad LDL cholesterol in your bloodstream. This can create heart problems and hardening or narrowing of the arteries. Blockages can occur when LDL cholesterol levels become too high. This can also lead to high blood pressure and thrombosis or blood clots.
The body’s metabolism can also be affected by eating white bread. Greater fat storage and reduced digestive capacity can occur owing to the consumption of white bread. The excess fat can get stored in the belly area. Hence weight loss can also become difficult for those who eat white bread regularly. It can also make you lethargic and less inclined to undertake exercise. The lack of dietary fiber is another big problem that can lead to constipation and other problems. Since the waste matter cannot be eliminated from the body easily the colon can suffer and diseases such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), Crohn’s etc can even lead to cancer of the colon. Hence you can limit the intake of white bread and substitute it with wheat bread which can give you immense health benefits.
