Why Does Your Baby Cry
A new mother would not be experienced enough and consequently the giggles, smiles, whimpering and mumblings of your baby would be harder to decipher. Particularly difficult to fathom is the crying of your baby while apparently deep in sleep. You are disturbed and swept by a wave of helplessness as you watch your precious child suffering in sleep.
Growth- It is important to know about the growth during the initial period of life. It is a common fact that the rate of growth for a baby is at its maximum during its period of rest. Keeping pace with the constantly changing body may prove to be disturbing for your baby. This is usually manifested in crying. This crying becomes more intense during the teething period.
Wetting- The commonest reason of crying is associated with the wetting of his bedclothes. Sometimes even diapers do not suffice as the baby urinates frequently. Consequently it starts crying after it finds himself swathed in wet clothes. You just need to change his diaper and wipe him dry if this happens to be the reason.
Nightmares- Although not much is known about the dreams that babies have, most of their desires revolves around satiating their appetites coupled with a feeling of security especially when ensconced in the arms of his mother. A feeling of insecurity or isolation may cause the baby to cry uncontrollably at night and you need to hold him close in order to appease him during such bouts.
Illness- The crying will be persistant and loud enough to wake up your entire neighborhood if your baby feels unwell. The first and foremost way to combat this is to check the passage of stools and try to reduce any colicky pain of the abdomen by treating the baby with gripe water. Common cold may cause the baby to sneeze or cough, the intensity of which may surprise him into crying out aloud. Chest congestions and clogged noses are often reasons for crying too and have to be treated accordingly.
