Ways to Increase Your Metabolism

Never leave your stomach starving. When you eat less, your body tends to give a halt to the metabolism. You should eat fuller meals not to leave you hungry. The more frequently you eat, the more is the energy required to break down the food to digest it. In fact, grab light snacks between the three meals as it would keep your metabolism working faster.

Never skip your breakfast. Starting the morning with breakfast instantly gives a kick start to your metabolism and provides high energy for the entire day. Those who skip their breakfast are more likely to gain weight. Have an apple, if nothing else or a yogurt or oatmeal prepared in fat free milk for getting a protein boost.

Include fiber in your diet. Those who eat more fiber in their diet tend to gain less or no weight at all over time. 25-30 grams of fiber in a day is a very good amount to keep that fat away and build up your metabolism.

Eat proteins. Proteins are required to maintain leans muscles in the body. If you add 3 ounce of lean meat or some nuts or low fat yogurt in every meal that you take, you can easily get a 35% increase in the calories burnt.

Include milk in your diet. Researchers have pointed out that calcium deficiency can slow down the metabolism. Dairy foods like fat free milk or other dairy products made from fat free milk help in reducing fat absorption from other foods and thus in increasing the metabolism.
