Warning signs of diabetes

A condition in which the body is not able to manage its food intake properly is called diabetes mellitus. Owing to the scarcity of insulin in the body it will be unable to burn its own starch, sugar and carbohydrates which in turn results in the accumulation of blood sugar in the blood stream. You have to pay attention and keep blood sugar in check if you wish to avoid complications. There are several risks factors and warning signs to know that about the onset of this condition.

One of the most commonly seen symptoms with diabetes is frequent urination problem. Those who are affected by the condition can drink a liter of water and urinate fully within a short period. Despite increased appetite and intake of food by the victim the person affected by this condition can suffer from weight loss.

The patient can also suffer from excessive thirst for water  and fluids which can be quite unusual.

Diabetics can also suffer from the problem of increased Hunger. He may be suffering from hunger pangs most of the time. Weakness, tiredness and drowsiness are other warning signs for diabetes. The person suffering from this condition can also experience slow healing of wounds. The wounds may linger and not heal as fast as required. Blurred vision may be a problem in some people suffering from diabetes.

There are several risk factors that can lead to diabetes or make a person pre-disposed to this condition. Those who do not engage in any physical activity can become a diabetic. You must spend at least 30 minutes everyday in some form of physical exercise to keep away from this complicated disease.

High blood pressure, previously identified Glucose Intolerance, family history of diabetes or hereditary reasons, unhealthy diet and increased age can also cause this condition in some people. The primary factors that cause this problem are hereditary factor and obesity.  Those who eat foods that are high in sugar such as chocolates, and pastries and too much of carbohydrates can be predisposed to diabetes. This is because these foods may contain high doses of glucose.
