Use natural moisturizers instead of Harsh chemicals

It is better to be cautious while purchasing moisturizers because some of them may contain chemical humectants and surfactants. Propylene Glycol is another ingredient that may be contained in some moisturizers. This has the tendency to absorb moisture from the air and remove the moisture from the inner layers of the skin which can cause deeper damage. Surfactants such as Sodium laureth sulphate and sodium lauryl sulphate may also find a place in the preparation of moisturizing creams which can greatly irritate the skin and cause damage.Hydrophobic substance such as paraffin or mineral oil may also be used in moisturizers. This can hamper the evaporation of water from the surface of the skin. They also prevent breathing of skin and can lead to acne formation. Some of the preservatives used in cosmetics and moisturizers include what is known as Parabens (ethyl, methyl, propyl, butyl Parabens) which also contain anti-microbial properties. But it is not clear whether these products can be used safely. On the other hand making use of natural moisturizers comes without any kind of side effect.

You can for instance make use of cucumber juice which is a good astringent and natural moisturizer. Blemishes of the skin can be removed by applying a mixture of lime juice and milk cream. You can also use almond paste that can retain the moisture of the skin. Coconut milk can rejuvenate the skin by acting as a good natural moisturizer. It can also reduce the ageing effect. You can enjoy a younger looking skin for a longer time period by making use of tender coconut water which is a great cosmetic and wonder medicine.

You can also make use of soaps containing olive oil or coconut oil as they can help in retaining skin moisture. Another great natural moisturizer is aloe Vera which can have beneficial effects on dry skin. You can also make use of the time tested honey and egg yolk mixture for your skin. You must follow other safety tips such as drinking at least two litres of water per day which can leave the skin hydrated and younger. You must also include lot of citrus fruits in your diet for having a soft and supple skin.
