Types of cancer

March 16, 2010

Cancers are of various types and before thinking of remedies you have to determine what type of cancer you are suffering from. Cancer affects almost every organ of the body and it can also affect important organs such as the heart and the eyes. Each cancer has its own symptoms, causes and types of treatment. Benign cancer cells are non-cancerous and can be removed before it spreads and harms the tissues nearby. The malignant ones are cancerous and can invade or attack other tissues also. In this type of cancer, surgery or treatment is required. The actual treatment that may be required will be informed by the cancer specialist. Treatment can be radiation therapy or chemotherapy.

Tobacco can cause cancer and in this case it can be cancer of the lungs. Tobacco can also cause cervical, pancreatic, kidney and stomach cancers. Through physical activity you can prevent this type of cancer to a certain extent. Obesity is another major cause of cancer. Environmental issues or asbestos can also lead to a type of cancer called Mesothelioma.

Your risk of having vaginal, valvuar and cervical cancers can increase through unsafe Sex which can cause a virus called Human Papillioma Virus. Sarcoma or heart cancer is another type of cancer caused by malignany cells. This can affect the soft tissues of the body in the chest area and also affect the heart. Melanoma is another type of cancer of the heart.

Brain tumors and prostrate cancers are also common. Brain tumors affect part of your brain. Eye cancer mostly affects children and is known as retinoblastoma. Symptoms of this cancer type include floating spots in vision, blurred vision, red or bulging eye and, loss of vision.

Try to control stress as this can aggravate health problems. You can be free from illness and cancers by trying to be happy and not worrying about small problems. You can cope with cancer in a better way by not going into a state of depression or anxiety. You must develop a better social circle to be free and happy mentally and physically.

If diagnosed on time, most of the cancers can be treated properly. Some can develop into silent killers when noticed at a later stage. This mostly involves cancers such as cervical or pancreatic cancers.  Through regular examinations you can avoid serious problems.
