Tips on How to Manage Dry Skin

Dry skin becomes really unmanageable at a certain point of time. While oily skin is intolerable because of its repercussions, pimples and oiliness, dry skin snatches away the glow from your skin making it appear dry and of course lifeless. Dry skin also leads to wrinkles which are certainly not welcome by any woman. Thus, here are a few tips on how to manage dry skin and get that normal skin with the glow back.

1. Moisturize your skin regularly. Dry skin is the sensitive type of skin which requires special attention. It needs proper care and the best way you can treat your dry skin is by avoiding creams and lotions rich in mineral oils and some other petroleum products. You should start using natural and organic creams instead of the ones with chemicals and oils. After taking bath, moisturize your skin with cocoa butter, Shea butter or virgin coconut oil. These oils contain the essential oils necessary for the skin and vitamins A, C, D and Vitamin E. natural creams also help in reversing the effect of aging and thus are very beneficial.

2. Use tap water for the minimum. Normal tap water contains chlorine, fluoride and many other chemicals and thus should be avoided for the skin. An alcohol free solution, cleansing lotion, milk or mineral water is much better to use than normal water. These products don’t cause irritation and clean the skin gently and keeping the moisture of the skin intact. Milk is the best known thing to keep your skin clean from impurities and hydrated at its best.

3. Many dermatologists suggest that staying in water for a long time as it doesn’t moisturize the skin; instead it washes off the inherent moisture from the skin. In fact, scrubbing is a complete no for people with dry skin as it makes the skin appear even drier. Soaps also extract the moisture off your skin thus use a mild soap and that too once in two days.
