Tips for Having a Good Night’s Sleep

Our body is also a machine, which just like other machines works throughout the day and needs proper rest at night. Night is the time when our body and mind need complete rest and thus compromising on the sleep can mean serious problems for our health as well our mind apart from the dark circles around the eyes. Many people have complaints regarding not being able to get a sound sleep at nights because of various problems of tensions, work load, stress, etc but if you have to energize your body for the next day’s work, you have to rejuvenate your body by having a sound sleep at night. Here are a few tips for having a good night’s sleep.

1.) Make a schedule and follow it regularly. Making a schedule helps to fix your biological body clock according to your schedule and then you can make your body function the way you want it to. It then knows a fixed time to sleep and a fixed time to wake up. On days when you wake up early or late, you will tend to feel sleepy at the same time when you get to your bed. Thus stick to your schedule to have a proper time of getting into bed at night.

2.) Avoid eating heavy dinner. First of all, make sure you have your dinner at least 2 hours before sleeping because the body has to invest certain energy in digesting the food which you eat thus, making you feel uneasy and without sleep. Thus avoid having heavy meal before getting into bed.

3.) Don’t exercise at night as it increases the body temperature by releasing certain hormones thus preventing the body from going to sleep. It is better to exercise during the morning or in the evening.

4.) Don’t intake caffeine before sleeping. Tea or coffee is a complete no before getting into bed as it stimulates the mind preventing it from getting to sleep.

5.) Get into bed only when you are very sleepy. Try to sleep by stimulating your mind with beautiful thoughts and visions and even then if you fail to sleep within 15-20 minutes of getting into bed then read a book as it will help you in falling asleep.
