The Problem of Neglected Teeth
How often do you look in the mirror and wish that you had a perfectly aligned set of teeth? We always tend to crave the perfect teeth only because they look much more pleasing, and not as embarrassing as teeth which lack alignment and are crooked.
The problem just got more serious. We can have many more health complications if you have crooked teeth. For one, they are very difficult to clean between, and there is a higher chance that food and bacteria are collected in there.
You can also cause more gum diseases if your teeth are badly managed. The teeth tend to loosen much faster, have less enamel and also turn black quickly. You will also find that you can get cavities much more quickly.
The problem is not just confined to your mouth. The germs tend to get carried into the body while you eat, swallow and drink water. These can then start to cause problems in the stomach, and can give rise to infections as well. In more serious cases, you can also have problems like heart diseases, or can also suffer ailments like diabetes when you neglect oral care.
In women, there can be many more complications. If there is poor oral care, the situation can mean that a pregnant woman runs the risk of having preterm babies or babies who are underweight. This is why it is very important for a pregnant woman to have her teeth attended to, and not neglect any oral problems during her pregnancy.
In women, the levels of calcium tend to drop after a while, and the condition of the teeth can further deteriorate. This is why it is very important for them to take good care of their teeth right from an early age.
The remedy to this problem is not only brushing and flossing regularly. You must have all dental problems addressed at the earliest. If your teeth are in poor shape or lack alignment, do not hesitate to visit your dentist. You may need to wear braces or undergo some corrective procedures, but given the health benefits in the long run, it might just be worth it.
