Symptoms of Bleeding Piles

Streaks of blood in your stool, underwear or toilet paper ? You are in for trouble. This is one of the first symptoms of the dreaded disease the bleeding piles also known as bleeding hemorrhoids. It is possible that you may also experience other hemorrhoid symptoms like itching, burning sensation or a general discomfort in your rectal area prior to bleeding. You may also feel a lump or swelling around your anus, accompanied by an itching or burning sensation. However, the bleeding can be kept in check by watching your diet. Forgoing touching or wiping of the affected area can help to relieve excessive strain or pressure on the infected area. One of the first  symptoms of bleeding hemorrhoids is bleeding caused by rupturing of blood engorged rectal veins.

Indications-Blood soiled underwear or blood stains on the toilet seat are caused by external hemorrhoids Blood stained stools are an indication of internal hemorrhoids

Reasons- Internal hemorrhoid symptoms are caused by hard, pallet like stool. It becomes very difficult to push out such stool without excessive straining. This results in an increased swelling of the hemorrhoids. The hard stool, when pushed out, tears open the inflated hemorrhoid tissue and causes bleeding.

In case of External Hemorrhoids the bleeding occurs due to excessive cleaning of the injured area. It is “mechanical” in nature and occurs due to the external injuries suffered by the hemorrhoids. This is also known as hemorrhoid prolapse.

Causative Factors-Extremely weak anal and rectal valves or veins, severe constipation, extreme pressure on the portal vein and  straining during the bowel movements are the common reasons for bleeding hemorrhoids. Excessive consumption of caffeine or alcoholic drinks as well as chronic hypertension may well be a reason for bleeding hemorrhoids too. Improper muscle tone or posture during defecation can also be pinpointed as causative factors for bleeding hemorrhoids. Bleeding hemorrhoids are extremely common during pregnancy.
