A newborn baby is the most especial gift of god to the parents and it is important to treasure that gift with lots of care and protection. Skin of babies are very delicate, sensitive and thin and are prone to injuries and infection. As their skin are different from the grown ups, so the skin care for the newborn babies are totally different from them. One has to keep certain things in mind about the skin care regime of their new born babies to keep it clean and soft without harming them.

One most important thing is that as your baby’s skin is delicate and are prone to reaction keep off the bottle of regular shampoo or soap with harmful chemicals away from your baby. It is because of this there are separate range of baby care products available in the market. Avoid using products that are high in chemicals, perfumes or clothes with chemical dyes as they can irritate the skin of the baby. However it is advisable not to rush for baby products especially in the early two months.

Touching your baby skin has very soothing effect on it and it is crucial for the emotional development of a baby. However always keep your hands clean with a soap or sanitizer before touching him. Also messaging him is great for their skin however the messaging must not be too forceful and should be done softly.

Always resist the temptation of bathing your child everyday. One must go for bathing twice a week or thrice a week. Bathing them frequently increases the chances of getting cold and also robs their delicate skin off their natural oil. As they hardly get dirt so a small sponge bath is good enough for them. However you must be to careful to change the diapers and properly clean up their bottom with soft cotton so that they do not get diaper rash. Always keep their tongue clean by frequently wiping with a soft cotton. However frequency of bath can be increased with time.

It is very important to keep the clothes clean. Wash them regularly and always sanitize their nappies and other clothes before use. Also use natural soft cotton fabrics for your baby that are soft on their skin.
