Simple Eye Care

The eyes play a very important role in our lives. they are one of the most important senses. It is necessary to care for them from a very young age. Even though the eyes have their own mechanism of protecting themselves, we need to do our bit to keep them clean and healthy. Our eyebrows and eyelashes are what protect our eyes in keeping dust and particles away. The tears in our eyes help in keeping the bacteria away. It is important to get the eyes checked regularly by a specialist even if you do not have any specific problems.

Since the eyes are so delicate make sure that you go to an experienced ophthalmologist. See that he s able to understand and treat eye problems suitably. If you are having any trouble with vision, you must go to an optometrist instead, as he will check the eyesight and prescribe the necessary corrective lens that you will need to wear. This is done by conducting simple reading tests.

The other care that it involved in day to day life is to avoid reading in dim light as it will cause the eyes to strain and could damage eyesight as well. If you are working for long hours on the computer see that the computer screen is big enough and at least twenty five inches away from your eyes. The screen should also be at a good angle to view.

Avoid looking at sunlight directly as the ultra violet rays will damage the eyes much faster. Invest in a good pair of sunglasses, preferably one that will give you hundred percent protection from UV rays. Do not be stingy here, and buy glasses that are of good quality.

It is good to splash rose water into the eyes every night. This will help relax the eyes from the strain of the day, and also give you more restful sleep. Keeping cold wet cotton swabs on the eyes forty five minutes daily will make you feel good.

You must do some eye exercises right from an early age and make it a part of your routine. This includes frequent blinking, eye rotation, and cupping of the eyes with the palms.
