Shimmering Beauty
Make up has evolved over the ages. Adding color to the features of your face while concealing its vital flaws is the essence of good make up. The latest addition to the ever expanding repertoire of facial make up is the ‘shimmer’. You may be a little apprehensive of trying it out at first. But with proper application the shimmer can literally take off years from your age making you look positively radiant.
Uses- A glowing look can be obtained by touching up the salient features with a shimmer. The shimmer is also referred to as a luminizer or illuminator and once you learn to use the shimmer, you will not be able to do without it ever again. Using the shimmer will highlight your best features specially when you apply it on your brow, cheekbones and lips. Although it is normally meant for emphasizing the features, it can be used artfully to conceal the dark circles under your eyes too.
Application- Shimmer is similar to other make up products and you can buy them in different colors and textures. The product is available as creams, powders and in the liquid form and you can apply it with a brush or simply by using your finger tips.
Trace the figure ‘3’ on your face starting from your temples before you begin the actual process of applying a shimmer. This serves to highlight your prominent facial features and you will be able to conceal the lines of make up by blending the shimmer well along the ‘3’. This form of application works best when you use the powder form. It is a good idea to include both the powder as well as the cream form in your make up kit. You will then be able to match your other make up products perfectly. Mismatching of product form is not advisable as it will make you stick out like a sore thumb. Take care to use the shimmer sparingly. Over use of the product will cause your face to shine too much making you look artificial.
