Remove Your Warts at Home
Getting rid of warts is not that difficult. However, you must take care of your personal hygiene if you do not want to be infected by warts over and over again. Warts are known to be caused by the human papilloma virus. They can be extremely contagious. You can easily end up with multiple warts from just a single wart. You can also pass them on to others. Let us now have a look at a few natural methods for removal of warts.
Salicylic Acid- Treating the area with salicylic acid has proved to be highly effective. The irritant erodes the area built up by the wart. Application of castor oil, moist aspirin or Vitamin C tablets mixed with water can all do the trick. However, you must be careful to isolate the treated area in order to prevent further irritation of the skin.
Adhesive Tapes- Another foolproof way is to cover the wart with a band of adhesive tape. Scotch tape, Duct Tape or musk tape, literally any type of tape will do. You need to keep the affected area covered for at least six days at a stretch. Treating with salicylic acid or using an emery board on the wart in between covering with tapes, will help you get rid of the dead skin too.
Hot Water- Soaking the warts with hot water is a good way of killing off the papilloma virus. You need to heat up water at a very high temperature before applying it on your skin. However, take care to see that you do not burn your skin.
Covering- Washing the warts several times a day with warm soapy water will help to keep the area clean. Cover the area with a band aid or adhesive tape after drying it. You also need to control sweat formation over the affected area before you cover it.
OTC- You will get FDA approved ointments for wart removal. Most of them contain salicylic acid and are available over the counter. It is mandatory to follow the directions carefully before using them.
