They are available over the counter and come in a tablet form. They are most effective during motion sickness and air sickness. Drowsiness is a pronounced side effect of these well known anti nauseous drugs.

Fluids- Sipping clear and weak liquids slowly may help to calm the stomach. Water, soups and sugared drinks or energy drinks may settle your stomach.  However, acidic drinks like orange juice or lemonade may upset the unsettled stomach even more. Caffeinated drinks need to be avoided when you are felling nauseous.

Food- It is best to avoid spicy foods during nausea. Simple and light snacks like crackers, gelatin and dry toast may help you to feel better. You can try eating fruits, cereals or plain rice once you start feeling a little more settled. Be sure to avoid heavy and spicy food incase you are feeling nauseous. It is best to forgo solid food for a few hours if the nausea is accompanied by vomiting.

Rest- Whatever be the reason, motion sickness, food poisoning or something else. It is advisable to lie still for some time. Moving around or changing positions frequently may well aggravate the feeling of nausea.

Medical Advice- Seeking medical help is a must if your nausea and bouts of vomiting lasts for more than two days. Pain in the body or abnormal color of your vomit may be a symptom of a much more serious disease.
