Reduce Your Liver Spots
Have you ever noticed that your hands have a peculiar spotted look or that your face is looking patchy? This may be due to liver spots particularly if you are well above the age of forty. Lentigos or senile lentigines are termed as liver spots by lay persons and have absolutely nothing to do with the liver. On the contrary, they are dark pigments usually associated with age.
Cause- They are believed to be caused by an increased exposure to the sun. The melanin or dark colored pigment is stimulated by the UV radiations of the sun and accumulate in our skin. They are not serious or life threatening but most people worry about them and would like to remove them for cosmetic reasons. While it may not be possible to remove them completely, it is certainly possible to fade the dark pigments considerably.
Exposure to Sun- It makes good sense to follow the adage, ‘prevention is better than cure’. Try to avoid going out in the sun. This may not entirely be possible so it’s best to protect yourself from the harmful UV rays. Use a good quality sun screen or carrying a parasol might just help to protect your skin from direct solar exposure.
Diet- Take a look at your diet. Give up eating fried and junk food and stick to fresh fruits and vegetables instead. Supplements of Vitamin C and E may also help in fading your liver spots. They are also very beneficial for the general health of your skin.
Natural Herbs- Try adding a few natural herbs rich in antioxidants to your food. It is imperative that you stay away from so called miracle medicines. These may cause harmful side effects without being that effective in the long run. Inculcate a habit of drinking green tea and eating olives regularly. Apart from fading the liver spots, they also help to rejuvenate the skin.
Cosmetics- Try to use natural skin whitening creams containing Extrapone Nutgrass. This will help to reduce the melanin production and revive the formation of colagen and elastin of your skin.
