Preventing Recurrence of Heart Attacks

Once you have had some trouble with your heart, you will have to be more careful about the way you live. There are greater chances that you can suffer again if you are not careful.The kind and number of calories had are more important than the kind of oils or the fats that you have. If you see yourself gaining more weight, you have made some mistake with your diet. You should look carefully not only into the number of foods that you are eating, but also the sizes of your portions. Also, make sure that you have added the calories from seasonings and dressings when you count the calories you are consuming.

You must work since this is the time of your life where you are meant to work. You must make sure that you do not take this to an extreme. Learn to balance your life, and know where you will have to let go and stop. Make time for recreation, rest and also relaxation.

It is best to have a stable mental frame. Avoid getting overly agitated. Stay away from situations that cause great deals of anxiety and worry.

Walking is believed to be the best exercise for those suffering heart problems. Make sure that you have your own set pace, and walk only as much as you can.

Do not walk if you are uneasy, panting or have any pressure on the chest. Avoid walking longer just because your other healthy friends are doing so. Listen to the body, and it will listen to you.

Avoid jerks, or any sudden strains. Even while exercising, work out gradually and do not start for more than ten minutes. Your heart may not be able to take it, especially if you already have narrowed arteries.

Smoking or any form of tobacco must be stopped immediately. There can be no exception to this.

Avoid eating a very heavy meal. Eat smaller quantities, but more regularly if you have to. Try and pursue some hobby if you can. It is a pleasant diversion and will also help relax you greatly.

Be careful about any other compounding ailments like blood pressure or diabetes. Sometimes, people who have heart problems tend to be overly strict about these. It can also cause you problems. If your blood sugar drops too low, it can do much harm. Be moderate in your approach.
