Preventing Foot Odors

The feet are a very strained part of the body. Any movement will depend only on the fitness of the feet. The feet can get very tired, and can cause lots of trouble to the body. The feet can get rather smelly due to prolonged strain, and also from wearing closed shoes all the time. Some people have a tendency to develop smelly feet faster than the others. Although not a serious problems in itself, it can lead to a number of infections and problems, and must be prevented early.

There is no medication required for this problem, just a little care.

To start with, make sure that you wash your feet before and after you have changed your footwear. This is important in keeping the feet clean, and also preventing any smell or dirt from carrying from one pair to the other.

It is very important that you change your socks each time you have used them, even if it is only for a few minutes. Leaving worn socks in your cupboard and waiting to wear them again will only allow sweat collected to develop and cause infections. They must be washed well, and preferably disinfected before they are used again. Try and wear cotton socks as far as possible, and avoid the use of synthetics. This will help your feet breathe better, and keep them free from sweat.

Wash your feet after you have come home and changed out of your shoes. Make sure you wash them well, and dry them thoroughly. You should get to the whole foot, and take special care to ensure that you have cleaned between the toes as well.

Try and wear open footwear as much as you can. This will help your feet breathe and also prevent them from sweating too much. This is especially true for the summer months.

Before you wear your socks, try and use a mixture of powder and deodorant. While the powder will help absorb the sweat and prevent it from forming, the deodorant will keep them from smelling.

Make a mixture of vinegar and baking soda. Washing your feet with this in diluted form will help keep your feet from smelling.
