Preventing Colds
Some people are more prone to catching a cold as compared to others. Getting a cold can be quite bothersome and sneezing all day can actually drain you of any energy. You will find yourself feeling quite sick when you get a cold.Change in climate is one of the most common reasons for catching a cold. There are lots of medications available to soothe your cold and also tons of nose drops. But prevention is better than cure. If you are more prone to catching a cold it is better to take some precautions to prevent that cold.
First of all make sure you wash your hands regularly and carry a hand sanitizer all the time to keep infections away and stay clean. Having a glass of red wine can be very beneficial for those who are prone to getting a cold.
Eat foods that are rich in vitamin C like oranges. Avoid having cold drinks and ice creams. If you really cant resist that ice cream then drink a glass of warm water immediately after that delicious ice cream so as to keep your body warm. This should be done whenever kids eat ice cream; even if they do not catch a cold that easily.
Exercise keeps your body healthy and fit so it is good to workout to increase your immunity and ward off those colds and sniffles. Get enough of sleep and make sure to keep your toes covered especially in the cold season. When it is cold also keep your ears covered so that you prevent the cold from getting in to your otherwise healthy system.
Keep your house clean and dust free as sometimes dust can cause allergies and give you a nasty cold. Even if you have a cold it is going to take at least three days before you begin to feel better so get plenty of rest and drink lots of hot soup. A good idea is to avoid milk and milk products to keep colds at bay. If you feel really lousy then have a few sips of brandy to heat your body from inside.
