Microdermabrasion – Effective Way to Remove Acne Marks

Many teenagers face the problem of acne. While there are several treatment options to treat this condition such as vitamins, topical ointments and even lotions these can be used only for treating a mild form of acne. As the treatment of bigger and older scars of acne is more difficult, many people go for other modern procedures to have a better or smoother complexion.

Through light based therapies or laser treatment many people try to have a better complexion. This works by reaching the deeper layers of skin and minimize the scars. However, the downside of such a treatment is that it can reduce the capacity of the skin to produce oil and make it prone to wrinkles. Another disadvantage of this method is that it is beyond the reach of the middle class and poor people because of its expensive nature.

Nowadays microdermabrasion is becoming popular as an effective method of removing scars related to acne. It is not as expensive as laser treatments and can remove the scars easily. The outer layers of the skin are exfoliated in this process through the use of tiny crystals which can even out the surface of the skin. Later using the suction method all the grime and dead skin which clogged the pores causing acne would be removed. The skin will be left rejuvenated and smooth by the use of other emulsions that are enriched using vitamins. Dark pigmentation and skin tan can also be removed as a result of microdermabrasion.

The exact procedure and sittings may vary from one dermatologist to another. In most of the patients visible results can be seen in 3-4 sittings. Better microdermabrasion is possible through the use of a commercial duty microdermabrasion machine rather than a home dermabrasion one. This is because the larger machines used in hospitals come with other features such as skin scrubber and ultrasound.

The microdermabrasion machines can make use of the crystal or diamond technology. Due to the formation of residue by the crystal machine the diamond one is more preferred. This is because the crystal remnants can cause irritation in the nose and eyes of patients. Microdermabrasion is also used as a part of facials these days to impart a better and youthful look. Microdermabrasion can be used not only to treat pimple marks but also to treat scars, wrinkles, dark pigmentation, dirt, dead skin cells etc. It can also strengthen the tissues of the skin and foster blood circulation.
