Keeping in Shape after Cesarean Section
More and more women are now delivering babies with the aid of cesarean section also known as C-section. The entire process of child birth may be relatively pain free if you opt for a C-section, yet the cutting of certain abdominal muscles may take a long time to heal. The stomach fails to retain its flat shape for a long time too and you need to start exercising as soon as you regain your health in order to get back into shape quickly enough.
Kegel Exercise - You can begin the Kegel exercises almost immediately after your baby is born. This is however, subject to the fact that you are healthy otherwise and have suffered no visible complications during the surgical procedure required for child birth. Kegel exercise is simple enough and you simply need to contract your pelvic muscles and hold them in for a total of three to five seconds. You need to do at least 20 in a row up to three times a day.
Crunches- You can try out a few abdominal crunches in order to get back into shape. Lying down on the floor with your feet flat on the ground and the knees bent will help to tighten the abdominal muscles. You can also try to pull in your stomach while you keep your hands firmly linked behind your head. It is essential to do this at least 10 times every day if you are looking forwards to a flat stomach.
Cardio Exercises- Doing cardio is an important for burning the accumulated fat off your body. Trying out simple cardio exercises like running, jogging, dancing, and light sports for at least half an hour every day will help you to reduce the size of your abdomen appreciably. Walking on the treadmill or using the elliptical machine at a gym may also help you to burn enough calories.
