Keep your Children Healthy

Bringing up children can be an onerous task. Specially so, when you have school going kids in your household. You may well take care of the health of your children diligently but once they are out at school they land into an area teeming with millions of microbes. This happens because you literally have hundreds of students sharing the same facilities and breathing the same air. You certainly need to take a few primary precautions in order to keep your kids both happy and healthy. Here they are:-

Immunity Enhancers- It is important that you try to increase the immunity of your children by giving them an extra dose of vitamins and minerals. Eating a meal that is rich in vitamins C and E will prove to be highly beneficial. Spending a substantial time outdoors also helps your child to absorb vitamin D directly from the sunlight which is directly responsible for keeping the bones healthy. A lot of fresh fruits as well as milk along with other dietary products will also help to keep diseases at bay. Citrus fruits like oranges and lemons are exceptionally rich in vitamin C and help to ward off infectious diseases like the common cold and influenza.

Keeping the hands clean: Kids will be kids and most of them tend to get their hands dirty with grime and dust even before the day is out. Popping food into the mouth after picking it up with dirty hands is the prime cause of germs entering the digestive system. It is mandatory to advice your child about the effects of washing the hands properly. Ensure that your child washes his/her hands with a germicidal soap before and after every meal.

Drinking water: It is best to let your child carry water from home. Having a water bottle handy will ensure that your kid will have adequate water to drink thus keeping the body hydrated at all times. It also prevents the transfer of germs which is often the case when water is drunk from a common fountain.

Snacks- Fill your kid’s lunch box with healthy tidbits like raisins, nuts or fruit slices instead of the sugared candies and chocolate coated treats. Dry popcorn can also double up as a healthy snack. Such item of food will boost up your child’s immunity and energize him instead of making him feel listless and tired.
