Importance of using sunscreen

Using a proper sunscreen will help you have a glowing skin by removing tan and darkening. By using a sunscreen you can safeguard your skin from the harmful effects of the sun.

Sunscreens have unique chemicals that help absorb the ultraviolet (UV) light. You can create a protective layer on your skin by applying a sunscreen lotion which in turn protects your skin by repelling the penetrating UV rays. Sunscreens can also prevent premature aging, sunburn and precancerous growths.

It is advisable to use a sunscreen that can safeguard your skin from both UVA and UVB. It must at least have a minimum SPF of 15. You can read the label and check for ingredients such as zinc oxide, Parsol 1789 or titanium oxide all of which can act as great protecting agents from the sun.

Also by using sunscreens, you can limit the damaging effects on your skin as these creams and lotions contain antioxidants. You can use sunscreens containing antioxidants such as co enzyme Q-10, Vitamin E or vitamin C. You can also apply sunscreen on your neck, hands and other parts of your body for maximum effects.

You must use sunscreen at least 3 times everyday especially when you will remain outdoors. You must also use other products such as sunglasses, hat and protective clothing to safeguard against sun’s rays. You can use mineral sunscreens that has micronized zinc dioxide and micronized titanium oxide if you have a sensitive skin as they do not dry skin or clog pores. Such lotions are also water resistant and offer immediate protection.

Sunscreen has effective chemical components that helps to absorb ultraviolet (UV) light. The two main UV rays which can affect the skin are Ultraviolet A and Ultraviolet B rays. Ageing happens because of the impact of UVA rays and they can impact the lower layers of the skin. UVB rays cause burning and are associated with melanoma and various other skin diseases. Hence you must choose a sunscreen that can offer protection from both these type of rays. The higher SPF a sunscreen has, the better would be the protection that it can offer.
