How to Take Care of your Hands
Our hands are the most used and also the most abused part of our body. Our hands bear the brunt as we go about doing our work. Yet looking good is confined to taking of the face alone for most of us. Soft, supple and beautifully kept hands also enhance our beauty.
Tips for Hand Care- Soaking your hands in almond oil added warm water will soften the hand. The oil will prevent excessive dryness of the skin and retain the moisture of the skin of your hand.
After washing, the hands should be scrubbed with a rough cloth to remove the dead skins. A mixture of warm honey and olive oil can be applied to the hands and the hands should then be wrapped in a hot towel. Doing this will help the mixture to permeate into your hands and help to keep it soft and supple.
Warm milk can also be used to soak the hands after a hard days work. The calcium present in the milk will strengthen your nails and re-hydrate the dry skin.
If you have flaky or discolored skin on the hands, scrubbing with a mixture of lemon juice and salt can help to exfoliate the skin and also remove the discoloration. This should be done at least twice a week for effective results.
Massage- When the hands ache or feel weak. A simple hand massage will rejuvenate them. By massaging your hand in a circular motion will improve circulation and also warm the hands.
Manicure- After exfoliating and washing your hands make sure that you dry them properly. The hands get chapped if not dried properly after washing.
The next step for a manicure is filing the nails properly. The filing should be unidirectional, moving from the corner to the center part. Moisturizing the hands will now prepare your nails for applying nail polish. The base coat of nail polish is then applied followed by another coat after the first one dries. Finally a translucent coat of polish can be applied to the nails to complete the manicure.
