How to Keep your Lungs Healthy

Research has proved that people who exercise regularly are less likely to suffer from diseases such as lung cancer, bronchitis, strokes and heart disease. Through exercise you can not only maintain your body in a good shape but can also help your lungs and respiratory system to function well.

The heart and lungs are made to work to their full potential when you take up some form of exercise. This will bring more oxygen into the bloodstream and the body which in turn will help you to keep your bodies in great form.

Not only this, exercise also helps you to get rid of depressive thoughts and tension and helps you have improved physical and mental well being. You must take care to gradually increase the intensity of exercise and not exercise at a high rate very quickly. This is because of the fact that exercising at a very quick rate can affect joints and muscles and also your heart and lungs.

You can keep your body in shape through simple forms of exercises such as jogging or running. These are natural exercises which will help you get back to shape easily. Your body can be kept in great working order by just taking up running three times a week for about half an hour.

In this way your lungs and heart can also stay healthy. You can also cycle 2 or 3 times per week. You must cycle regularly in such a way that you can build up slight sweat. Cycling can be a social experience which can lead to better functioning lungs and heart. You can also do these exercises in the company of a friend so that you will not find it a chore but can enjoy while exercising. You can also find exercising more interesting in this way and can stay committed by encouraging each other.

Swimming is another good exercise that can keep the entire body in top form including the lungs. If you have an addiction to smoking or alcohol consumption it is better to try and quit these habits so that your lungs can remain healthy and function optimally forever.
