How to Give Up Sweets?

Eating too much of sweets is bad for health. Don’t we all know it? Almost all of us know the ill effects of gorging on sweets and simply dread the thought of growing fat beyond recognition. However, knowing all about the health related facts is not enough. You need to act on it as well. But what if you have a sweet tooth?

Cutting own on ice creams and puddings and that sumptuous chocolate cake seems to a challenge you are afraid to face head on. How do you cut back on the brownie and potato crispies  without feeling miserable about it? Here are some handy tips to uplift your mood. Try them out for a period of time and you will find that you can genuinely get rid of that incurable craving for sweets.

You can start by eating a sweet on alternate days instead of eating them daily. Gradually increase the number of days without sweets and you will soon find yourself looking forward to your favorite sweet only once in a week. Try to reward yourself with the sweet on a weekend so that feels like a celebration. You will soon be astonished at the drastic reduction in calories.

If you are accustomed to having a sweet after each meal, try substituting it with a fresh fruit instead. Although you may not fancy the idea much, try it out  at least once. Fruits like grapes, berries, tangerines or kiwis taste as good as sweets and may satiate your taste buds like never before. You can try mixing various fruits slices together and chill them in order to create a delicious and healthy dessert.

Making a Parfait with low fat plain yogurt together with a fresh or frozen fruit of your choice and topped with a granola bar may help you get out of the unhealthy habit of feasting on sweets everyday.

If you still find yourself dreaming of rich sweet desserts, try opting for the low fat variety foods. However, be sure to check out the labels at the back of each package before you begin to consume them.
