How to Get Rid of Your Double Chin?
A lot of people look fat simply because they have double chins. Although the chin area is not left untouched if you put on fat yet a lot of otherwise slim people end up looking obese because they cannot manage to get rid of their double chins. This problem also aggravates with age when your skin tone becomes slack. Double chins also run in the family and if your parents had one, you can be sure of inheriting it. Although there are no specific means of getting rid of this problem, you can try a few tricks to minimize your double chin.
Diet- Calorie intake definitely counts. A balanced and healthy diet will keep your weight in check and will eventually take of the fat from your chin. It is common sense that the fat will also melt away from your face once you succeed in reducing your body weight.
Exercise- Exercising is another good way of burning calories. Brisk walking, fitness and aerobic exercises or climbing the stairs will all help you to lose fat from your body as well as chin. Anaerobic exercises like weight lifting may also prove to be effective
Posture- Sitting up straight with your chin jutting out may help in prevention of body fat accumulating in the loose skin below your chin. Try using an ergonomic chair while at work.
Gum- Chewing gum may help you in the long run. The facial muscles involved in chewing are also responsible for keeping the jaw straight. So try to chew gum whenever possible. It is best to use the sugar free variety otherwise the sugar in your gum may just pile the calories back on.
Chin Exercise- You can do a simple exercise by opening your mouth and pulling your lower lip above the bottom row of teeth. Then work your jaw up and down in a scooping motion. Doing this exercise several times a day will help to firm up your jaw line.
Surgery- You can always decide to go in for cosmetic surgery or liposuction as the last resort.
