How to Gain Weight

These days everyone speaks only of weight loss but there are so many people who are struggling to gain weight, what about them? Well, before you analyze whether you need to gain weight or lose weight, you need to calculate your BMI (Body Mass Index). BMI is calculated by dividing your weight (in lbs) by your height (in cm). In case your BMI is less than 18.5, you are certainly underweight. Here are some simple weight gain tips for such people.

1.) The first and foremost tip is to eat more calories than you spend. You need to intake at least 1000 calories more per day to gain 1 pound in a week. Eat larger portions of food and eat at least 5 times in a day. Add cheese and other dairy products to your every day diet. The dairy products help you gain weight naturally and are very good for health thus they do not disturb the dynamics of the body.

2.) Add nuts to your diet. Fruit juices and dry fruits contain high calories and thus help you in gaining weight easily.

3.) Add starchy vegetables to your every day diet. Such vegetables include potatoes, sweet potatoes, corn, etc. They are indeed a healthy option of gaining weight thus should be included in your daily diet moderately.

4.) Eat lots of sweets. When you eat sweets after every meal, your body’s fat burning capacity slows down and thus helps you in gaining weight. Ice creams and chocolates are rich in calories. Dark chocolates are also a good option as it contains antioxidants which are very good for health.

5.) Include proteins and carbohydrates in your diet. High amount of proteins is found in peanut butter. It can be added to breads and chicken breast for enhancing the flavor as well as adding calorie content to the food.
