How to Dress in Winter?
Winter is almost here. It is indeed pleasant to think of the holiday season catching up with you. Thanksgiving is just around the corner and the promise of a white Christmas seems to be in the air. However, it is time now to take a stock of your clothes. Are you well prepared to face the cold? You need to give a thought about protecting yourself from the winter chills in order to keep yourself snug and warm all through the bleak winter months. It is best to dress in layers to combat the cold. Check out these tips for protecting yourself while being dressed stylishly.
Let’s start with the very basics. Wearing a fitted long sleeve shirt or a tight tee shirt next to your skin will minimize any gaps through which the cold winter air can enter.
If possible stick to rough denims. Jeans are normally made of thick material and will help to keep your legs fairly warm. If you are not comfortable about sporting the casual look while at work, you can try pulling on a long pair of trousers made of the finest wool. Be sure to wear leggings or tights beneath. These will help to keep your legs encased comfortably as well.
It is a good idea to wear loose clothing on the exterior. You are free to wear as much as you can. Vests, jackets, flannels or sweaters you may need to keep more than a couple of them on especially when you are outside facing the weather in all its glory.
Pull on your socks now. Thick woolen socks should keep your feet warm enough but you need to avoid getting them wet by walking in the snow. Heavy shoes should now go on your feet. Oxfords or heavy boots, any one of them will do. However, stay clear off sandals and flip flops. Delegate them to the deepest corner of your shoe cupboard until spring sets in again.
Last but not the least, you need to try out the accessories. There is no limit to them and you can put on gloves, caps or scarves around your neck. Less is definitely not more in winter and you can use more than one accessory to face the winter in style.
