How to avoid False Hunger Pangs
Although most of us opt for dieting in order to lose weight, we forget that crash dieting will do us more harm than good. Most of us eat at the wrong time and munch on the wrong kinds of food to satiate our hunger pangs even when we are intent on losing weight. While being hungry is a sign of our body needing its nutrition, yet the brain sends wrong signals when accosted with tempting food items at odd times.
As a result, we end up succumbing to false hunger. You do need to be on your toes when you find yourself eating now and again just because you think that you are hungry. This type of hunger is best avoided when you become conscious and try to take effective steps in order to get rid of it.
Water: Keep your body hydrated by drinking at least 7 to 8 glasses of water every day. You will find that water not only appeases your false hunger adequately, it also helps to keep you hydrated and slim all at the same time.
Avoid Ennui: Being bored will give you an excuse to gorge on unhealthy food items. Activities that require no physical exercise at all may leave you bored or longing to eat while you continue to read or watch television. Crisply fried snacks or greasy food are often consumed at these times making you put on weight easily. You can try chewing gum preferably the sugar free type in order to get out of the habit. This will help you to avoid eating snacks and you can eat healthily at meal times.
Eating at work: Munching on food as you become engrossed in work is really a bad habit. You may feel tempted to munch on salted peanuts or potato crackers while being tied to your desk. In fact, the idea of eating every 2 or 3 hours is considered to be a healthier option instead of eating a huge meal thrice or four times a day. The only thing you have to do is to substitute the junk food with small pieces of vegetable sandwiches, protein bars or a whole fruit rich in vitamins. Nibbling on carrot sticks will help to ward off false hunger too and you will soon be able to show off your enviable figure.
