Hot Flashes
The main cause of hot flashes is known as hot flushes. It is a symptom of changing of hormone which is characteristic of menopause. More than 2/3 women in North America are suffered from the disease. The condition occurs when the blood vessel which are near the surface of skin dilate to cool. In this particular condition, the red flushes appear on the face. A chilled felling appears when hot flashes subside. The problem occurs at night and it accompany with sweating.
The duration of flashes and sweating varies from woman to woman as some women have short time flashes during the menopause rather some have long duration flashes. It is impossible to completely get rid of hot flushes but you can avoid these triggers to some extent. Some of the important things that are helpful in providing relief from the condition are mentioned below:
Diet and lifestyle Changes
Exercise- Daily exercise plays a significant role at the time of menopause. One should exercise as walking, swimming and dancing daily to avoid the condition. Exercise not only improves your physical strength but it also helps to lower down the symptoms of problem.
Relax- Relaxation, yoga and meditation are some relax providing ways. So, the women should use these methods to reduce the stress. These methods also help the person to sleep properly.
Soy- Many researches shows that incase of having menopause the intake of soy in sufficient amount is very helpful. Soy powders, whole soybean, soy milk and tofu are some dietary items which can be taken in food.
Skip Spices- Foods that are rich in spices should be avoided by the women who are facing the problem of menopause as the problems further give way to severe and more problematic condition.
Avoid Caffeine and Alcohol Beverages- Caffeine can trigger the hot flashes and sweats. So, one should cut down the intake of caffeine. Alcoholic beverages can raise the estrogen level of a women and lead to hot flashes. So, avoid alcohol intake.
