Home remedies for Travel Sickness?
Travelling is a fun and one of the most enjoyable human experience. But not for all of us. Many people are not comfortable with idea of travelling and feel a sense of physical and mental discomfort.
If you are scared of travelling, feel a sudden cramp in your stomach, a sense of anxiety when you are travelling by car, bus, bike, or even speedy bicycle or train, it may be that you are suffering from travel sickness.
Travel sickness is a condition when people are uncomfortable with motion of any kind, whether they are riding a swing or even speedy bicycle. That is the reason it is also called motion sickness. A person suffering from this problem may feel dizziness, loose motion, vomiting, cold sweats whenever he is travelling.
There is no particular age for this problem and they may happen to young children as well as grown up man. Also its intensity may vary from person to person. In most of the cases the symptoms are mild but sometimes it may turn severe and cause excessive vomiting, very high plapitation and blood pressure problems which require an immediate medical help.
Our inner ear is resposnsible for sending the message of movement to our brain and that regulates our physical balance. However for a patient suffering from morning sickness there is a lack of cohesion in inner ear and the central nervous system of the body. So generally our body and muscles receives delayed or confusing messages from the brain and that causes motion sickness.
Home remedies for travel sickness
Ginger is very effective in minimizing the affect of nausea and upset stomach. Also sipping ornage juice and smelling juice of orange peel helps in reducing the nausea tendency. Chewing mint leaves with basil also helps in treating the sickness related to travel and prevents dizziness and nausea.
Apart from that it is advisable to eat light food during travel. Traveling with empty stomach or taking heavy food both can worsen the situation. Also avoid eating tomatoes, onion or too oily food that can induce vomiting tendency. Also sipping ornage juice slowly during travel also helps. Apart from that try to deviate your eyes from motion. Do not look outside the window.
However if the symptom becomes severe always consult a doctor. Certain antihistamine medicines are useful in treating motion sickness.
