Home Remedies For Tired Eyes

What is the world without eyes!  However our eyes are also the most overused human organ, continuously exposed to abuses of sunlight, TV, computer, reading which often leaves them tired and exhausted.

Eyes as Health Indicators

Eyes are also window to our health. Pale eyes mean deficiency of water in our body. Dark circles reflect lack of balance diet and puffed heavy eyes indicates exhausted body. Dirty and muddy eyes indicate poor digestion and often constipation. Red watery eyes means allergy or over strained eyes.

How to Soothe Tired Eyes

Cucumber is best home remedy for the tired eyes. Dip the cotton balls on the cucumber juice and place it over your eyelids for 10 minutes. It will relax your tired eyes and will also cure puffiness and dark circles.

Put used tea bags in chilled water and place it over your eyelids. It has a very soothing effect on your eyes and you will get the sparkle back in your eyes. You can also use cotton balls dipped in chilled rosewater to relax your eyes.

Take powder of Bahera (Beleric Myrobalan), Harakiri (Terminalia Chebula) and Indian gooseberry or Amla (Phyllanthus Emblica) and soak it in water overnight.  In the morning strain the water and wash your eyes with them. It has very soothing effect on your eyes and also improves the vision.

Rub your palm till they are hot.  Cover your eyes with these warm palm for a minute. It will relax the strained eye muscles.

Wash your eyes regularly with clean water at least thrice a day, especially after reading, watching TV or working on computers.

Lack of proper sleep also results in dark circle, puffiness and leave the eyes tired for the whole day.

Food for Healthy Eyes

Your diet must be balanced include all essential nutrients, especially vitamin A. Eat lots of fresh fruits and leafy vegetables like spinach, carrot, mango, nuts and whole grains.

Also one must take at least 10-12 glass of water to retain the white sparkle in your eyes. Eating Indian gooseberry or Amla (Phyllanthus Emblica) also improves your vision.
