Health Benefits of Red Wine
Alchohal is always considered a health hazard and is the root cause of many psycho, socio and physical problems. However the opinion differs in the case of Red wine. Since many years medical experts have been working on finding the positive impact of Red wine on our health.According to many medical researchers Red wine contains certain antioxidants that are considered good for our health. They suggest that the moderate consumption of Red wine can benefit our health in many ways apart from relaxing our nerves.
Many research has suggested that Red wine contains an antioxidant called resveratrol. This antioxidant is found in the grape seed and skin. But during the process of fermentation, its cencentration increases by many folds in Red wine. Resveratrol is considered benefecial in may ways. It prevents lung cancer, good for various heart ailments and above all helps in reducing the cholesterol level in blood thus reducing the chances of heart attack.
Resveratrol is also supposed to be beneficial in reducing the inflammation of lung tissues in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Apart frrom that red wine also has other antioxidant called catechin and guercetin. These antioxidants helps in reducing low density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol which is a bad cholesrerol and incseases high density lipoprotein (HDL) which is good cholesteral.
They also reduces the chances of fat deposit in the blood vessals and therefore are considered to be good for our heart.
Apart from that these antioxidants are also considered good in the formation of nerve cells, and are considered to be helpful for the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease and Parkinson’s disease.
However with all its benefits one must remember that red wine after all is an alchohal and its consumption must be moderate and within the prescribed limits. As per doctors one should restrict its consumption to one to two glass a day and should not exceed that. Consuming more red wine than the prescribed dose will do more harm than any good.
