Gum infections – Causes and remedies

Inflammation of gums, bleeding gums, sensitivity of gums and teeth and its inflammation are symptoms that indicate gun disease, otherwise known as gingivitis. Gum disease when left untreated can also lead to stroke or heart disease. You may consult a dentist who can suggest medications or surgery to treat this problem.

One effective treatment option for gum disease is CoQ10. The quality of this medication can differ from one brand to another. A high quality CoQ10 must be selected for this purpose. Some people find a solution of water mixed with Hydrogen Peroxide to be helpful in treating gum disease. This solution can be used twice a day, one in the morning and again after you brush and floss your teeth before retiring to bed in the night. You can continue with this procedure even after your gum inflammation subsides a little.

Cleaning your teeth frequently with interdental cleaners such as picks, brushes or sticks can also help you clean your teeth. It is very essential to follow a good cleaning routine to remove plaque build up which can impede with oral hygiene. Plaque which is a sticky coat of bacteria can cause harm to teeth and gums. BY using an interdental cleaner, you can remove plaque that builds up between teeth and below the gum line. These areas must be cleaned thoroughly because these are the areas which can encourage gum disease and tooth decay when left unclean.

Children muse be taught good brushing and flossing techniques from an young age to be rid of problems later. This can be made a life long habit so that they can maintain good oral hygiene. Flossing also helps to eliminate disease causing bacteria which can cause cavities. This will help to prevent problems such as receding or bleeding gums.

You can visit the dentist regularly, at least twice a year to remove plaque build up which can prevent gingivitis. By using toothpaste containing fluoride, you can prevent gum disease. For cases of serious gingivitis, you may have to take antibiotics after consulting a physician. Good oral hygiene by way of regular visits to the dentist can solve the problem of gingivitis.
