Get Rid Of Stained Teeth
Sparkling white teeth adds to your attraction. It brightens up your smile and lights up your face. But if you look around, you’ll hardly ever see people with such pearly white teeth anymore. Our teeth tend to get discolored with age. Avoiding certain foods coupled with proper dental hygiene may help you to retain the whiteness of your teeth. Here are some tips for you:
Carbonated Drinks- Any fizzy, carbonated drink including soda and sparkling water will make your teeth age prematurely. The same goes for the diet variety of these drinks too. The acid present in these drinks dissolves the upper layer of the tooth. They may also make you lose calcium from the jaw causing your teeth to fall out.
Chewing- Certain fruits and vegetables like apples, broccoli and spinach act as natural cleansers for the teeth. They can help you to get rid of stains on your teeth. However, you need to chew them well in order to utilize their benefits fully. Taking caffeine or wine will stain your teeth badly. Beware of pigmented foods that produce stains on a white cloth. They will do the same on your teeth.
Drugs- Avoid tobacco based addictions. Continuous usage of the drug ‘Ecstasy’ wears out the enamel of the teeth and causes irreparable harm. Rubbing tobacco or cocaine on the gums will cause you to lose your natural dentures. Healthy gums are necessary for keeping your teeth healthy.
Smoking- People addicted to smoking often have yellow, brown nicotine stains on their teeth. Apart from the stains, smoking has been identified as one of the main reasons for oral cancer.
Bleaching- Applying bleach for whitening your teeth can be effective only if you take professional help. Some over the counter bleaches, on the other hand, are acidic in nature and may cause loss of sensation.
Nail Biting- Chewing on your nails harm your teeth as well as nails. They expose the soft inner dentine of a tooth by wearing down the weakened enamel. Opening beer bottles with your teeth can also be detrimental for your dental health.
