Get Rid of Grey the Natural Way

You are feeling depressed. You have just discovered a strand of grey peeping out of your hair. You hate the idea that you are growing old. Yet you are reluctant to use all those  chemical colorants on your hair. Don’t you worry. There are a few natural ingredients for coloring your hair too. Let’s have a look.

Using Sage- Sage can be used to darken hair color effectively. All you have to do is boil a few leaves of sage in water for approximately twenty minutes, cool it and spray on your hair. Daily usage of sage will give you the desired effects in almost no time at all. Sage works best with brown colored hair though it can be used to hide the grey in darker hair almost as effectively.

Sage can also be left overnight on your hair. You just need to maintain the dark color regularly. It is most economic to keep the sage water stored in your refrigerator. You can then reuse it as and when required.

Using Henna- Another wonderful natural colorant for the hair is henna. The hennaed hair looks reddish in color and manages to hide the grey very well. Using the pure variety of henna will also add luster to your hair leaving it soft and silky. A strand test on your hair will give you a fair idea of what color your hennaed hair will take on and how long you would have to leave it on for achieving the desired color. Brunettes and dark blondes look spectacular with hennaed hair. The bright red highlights on very dark hair look equally exotic.

You can also experiment with different shades by adding coffee or indigo to the henna. However be careful not to buy henna containing metallic salts. The black henna is particularly harmful as it contains chemicals.
