Get Rid of Blisters
Blisters on our skin are an extremely common phenomenon. A blistered skin may look ugly but it is actually a form of protection by the body itself. They are formed as a means for fighting against infections. Once the underlying infection is overcome by our body, most blisters disappear on their own. However, we can try to eliminate the blisters in order to expedite the healing process of our body.
Protective Covering- It has been seen that blisters are mostly formed due to friction. Tight shoes, unsuitable clothing or exposure to harsh chemicals and heat may cause irritation to your skin. This is manifested by formation of blisters on the skin surface. Using gloves while cooking or handling chemicals will help to keep your skin protected. Likewise, it is wise to wear good quality clothing and shoes. Take care to see that they feel comfortable. There is no point in jeopardizing your health for fashion. Use a sunscreen or carry aparasol when you go out into the sun. This will help to keep your skin smooth and blemish free.
Cold Compress- If you have already wounded yourself by irritating your skin due to friction, you need to put an ice pack immediately over the affected region. This will help to constrict the surrounding blood vessels and control the swelling considerably. Once the swelling goes down, the body will not react by erupting in blisters.
Antibiotics- You can also try and get rid of your blister by washing the area properly with soap and water. Applying an antibiotic ointment liberally over the blistered area will help you to counteract the bacteria teeming in the wound. The blister will rupture and disappear if the infection is eliminated from your body.
Covering- Since a blister is a way of combating infection, it is best to leave it intact while your body heals itself. Covering the blister with a corn cap along with a thin layer of gauze may be beneficial as it helps to keep the area clean and unexposed to further infections.
