Foot Massaging Technique

Our feet  bears the entire load of our body as we go about on our way, each day. As a result, our feet gets weary and consequently, we may develop a lot of physical problems.

Benefits- Foot massage or reflexology has been found to be very effective for relieving foot pain. It also helps to restore our health and heal blood pressure and stress related problems. Proper foot massage also  increases the blood circulation to our extremities thereby helping us recover rapidly from sports injuries and plantar fasciitis. Each and every technique employed in reflexology helps us to relax by pampering our tired feet. It is also a wonderful way to feel rejuvenated.

Techniques- Washing both your hands as well as your feet is an absolute necessity before you actually start the process of massage. Taking a hot shower before you embark on a massaging session will help to relax your muscles even more.

It is now time to place both your hands on the foot to be massaged. Although you can massage both your feet simultaneously, it is better to bestow your entire attention on one foot at a time.

Kneading the fleshy part of your sole gently will help you to alleviate any pain that you may feel. The upper part of the feet can be squeezed gently along with the kneading motion. However, be wary of applying too much pressure. Moving your palm along your feet from the ankle to the toes in a gliding manner will prove to be extremely relaxing.

Another good method for relieving foot pain is to stretch the arches of your feet. Bending your toes both backwards as well as downwards may help to stretch your entire foot including the ankle.

Pulling on each toe individually will help you relax considerably. It also feels great if you can rotate the toes in every direction by stretching and pulling on them. This helps to loosen the stiff muscles of your foot.
