Foods to Increase Your Sperm Count

Infertility treatments for a male often includes a sperm count. A low amount of sperm is often a problem for reproduction and various treatments are available for increasing the sperm count to a healthy level. However, it has also been found that a healthy diet goes a long way in increasing the number of sperms effectively. Food products rich in Vitamins A, C and folic acid are considered to have a sperm enhancing effect.

High protein content also plays a positive role as far as increase of sperms is concerned. It is, therefore quite easy to increase your sperm by including fish, poultry and fresh vegetables in your daily diet without having to resort to expensive medicines and supplements.

Vegetables- Fresh, green vegetables like spinach, and bell peppers as well as avocados, carrots and asparagus which are non-starchy by nature help to increase the sperm count considerably. It also helps to increase the motility of sperms. Without an adequate supply of Vitamin C the sperms often tend to stick together thereby hampering their movement towards the uterus. Foods rich in zinc, selenium and chromium are also beneficial for the sexual health of a male.

Fish and Poultry- Fish fresh from the sea as well as poultry or meat products help in increasing the sperm count too. L-arginine is the amino acid required for a healthy production of active sperms and you will be able to get it from high protein sources of beef, chicken, pork, brazilian nuts and soyabeans.

Grains- Whole  grains are rich in Vitamin E which is an excellent antioxidant that gets rid of the free radicals within our body thereby protecting the sperms. Wheat germ, sunflower oil as well as hazel nuts and sunflower seeds contain vitamin E. Sweet potatoes can provide you with adequate amounts of vitamin E as well.
