Food for healthy vision

Eyes are the most important human organ so it is important to keep them healthy. Like other body part they require proper nutrition. Any deficiency in our diet may not only result in dull, tired and ugly dark circles but also can result in poor eyes sight. So it is important to eat healthy for perfect vision.Nutrients for eyesight

Regular consumption of Vitamin A, Vitamine B2, Vitamin C, Vitamin D, Vitamin E, Zinc and omega fatty acids are essential for the overall health of your eyes. So your daily diet must include food that are rich in these essential nutrients.

Vitamin A or retinol are must for healthy eyes and prevents them from infection. Lack of  vitamin A results in Nightblindness and Xeropthalmia. Include carrots, Spinach, Broccoli, cabbage and lettuce, green vegetables, fish, liver oils and milk in your diet which are rich in vitamin A.

Vitamin B2 is important for healthy skin and eyes. They can be found in the green vegetables, poultry, fish, liver, cheese and milk.

Amla or Indian gooseberry (Emblica officinaliis) is rich in vitamin C,. Daily consumption of one Amla in any form improves your vision. Consumption of Triphala (composes of Emblica officinaliis, Terminalia belerica and Terminalis chebula) is used in Ayurveda to cure many eye problems and improve vision.

Salmon is rich in Omega-3 fatty acids, Vitamins A and D which are essential for improving our vision.

Also include garlic and onion in your diet which are rich in sulfur for health of eye lenses.

Bilberries contain anthocyanosides, which reduces the risk of vision loss. They are rich in antiodidants and helps in reducing eye fatigue and tiredness. Also spinach and tomatoes contains high level of antioxidants which are important for our eye ight.

Egg yolks contain protein, lutein and essential fatty acids, vitamins B and zinc that are essential for overall eye health.

Include Almonds in your diet is good for your eyes. It is rich in Vitamin E and protein and helps in fighting eye fatigue and keep retina healthy.

Apart from the natural sources, one may take some supplements to compensate for any defeciency of these nutrients in the diet.
