Flowers are beautiful to look at. They are also appropriate gifts for almost all occasions. Most of us send flowers to the sick and indisposed but did you know that flowers have certain medicinal benefits as well? It has been seen that when these beautiful flowers are processed properly they often produce potent, natural medicines that cure almost all diseases. They have an added advantage of being cost effective as well. Instead of buying a drug over the counter, why don’t you try looking around your garden for the right medicine? Let’s now take a look at the healing properties of certain flowers.

Calendula- This beautiful white flower can soothe ulcers and are equally effective for menstrual cramps. Various instances of gum diseases and sore throats can be cured by calendula extracts too.

Californian Poppy- This flower indigenous to the American grasslands can provide an effective cure for people plagued with insomnia. They are also used to alleviate anxiety and nervous tension.

Dandelion- Dandelion greens may make a delicious addition to your meal but the flower is extremely useful as well. They help to purify the blood and can be used to fight effectively against anemia, jaundice and other blood related disorders.

Honeysuckle- The flowers dangling from the vines have antibiotic properties. They can also be used to cure viral infections. Arthritic patients can find relief from pain by using the stem and the leaves of the honeysuckle plant.

Plum Flowers- Most of us love the fruit of the plum tree, But the flower is useful in its own way too. Plum flowers can treat  stomach problems effectively. It can also help you to get rid of persistent cough.

Rose- The beauty of the rose is unparalleled. But it can also be used an anti depressant. Rosewater can cleanse your face properly and soaking your feet in warm water mixed with rose petals will help to soothe your feet

Begonia- These flowers are highly beneficial as unguents for burns and sores.

Sunflower- This brightly colored flower can provide relief from ulcers, menstrual cramps and tonsillitis.
