Easy Relaxation Technique
None of us have the time to relax these days. Gone are the days when we could afford to take it easy as we went about our daily chores with lots of time to spare. The mad rush of today has in fact taken its toll on each of our health as well. We feel stressed out and anxious even as we remain desk bound in front of our computers communicating with the world. The stress that our body undergoes needs to be eased up if we do not want to fall prey to a host of illness that will slowly rob us off our health and peace of mind apart from shortening the span of our lives. The best way to overcome this problem is to learn to relax our mind and body.
The entire procedure is simple enough with no expensive equipments to be bought or even long hours to be spent on learning techniques. The total time consumed will be just a couple of minutes but you need to keep your body ram rod straight and loosen the strings or elastic bands around your torso in order to improve the blood circulation to all parts of your body.
Technique- The first and foremost step is the process of breathing. Controlling the way you breathe definitely affects your body. The simplest way to gain control in this is to concentrate on both the inhalation as well as the exhalation.
Begin by taking a deep breath through your nostril and then try to slowly breathe out with the help of your mouth.
The root cause of the problem lies in faulty breathing procedures. We do not breathe the oxygen deeply enough resulting in lesser amounts of oxygen permeating our lungs.
Shallow or hurried breathing only makes the air enter the upper part of our lungs. The air circulation is further hampered by both tight clothing and improper posture. It is better to try and gain at least a modicum of understanding of the working of our muscles during the process of breathing.
The diaphragm present just below the lungs needs to be involved actively as well. Placing a hand underneath your ribs during breathing will help you to understand the motion of the muscle as your hand moves outwards during breathing in and goes back to its original position during letting the air out.
Timing each breath is an important step of relaxation as well. The procedure of breathing out should ideally take double the time as breathing in.
