Easing the Pain of Varicose Veins
Varicose veins are more commonly observed in women rater than in men. It is a very painful condition which affected mainly the legs. The modern medical treatments of either a surgical operation or injections o not hold out hopes of a cure as they do not even attempt to treat the basic cause. by surgically removing one affected vein, other veins get affected.
In the natural treatment, the patient should, in the beginning, be put on a fast for four or five days or on a fruit diet for seven to ten days. A warm water enema should be administered daily during this period to cleanse the bowels and measures should be taken to avoid constipation.
After the fast or the all fruit diet, the patient should adopt a restricted diet plan, with the emphasis on grains, seeds, nuts, vegetables and fruits. About seventy five percent of the diet should be consisted of raw vegetables and fruits. All condiments, alcoholic drinks, coffee, strong tea, white flour products, white sugar and white sugar products should be strictly avoided. A short fast or the all fruit diet for two or three days may be undertaken every month depending on the patients progress.
The alternate hot and cod hip bath will be very valuable and should be taken daily. the affected parts should be sprayed with old water or cold packs should be applied on them. A mud pack may be applied at night and allowed to remain until morning. The hot Epsom salt bath is also very valuable and should be taken twice a week.
The patient should go in for outdoor exercises like walking, swimming, cycling, take sun baths and do deep breathing exercises. In this condition, relaxing on a couch and placing the legs on a higher level can give much relief. The patient should avoid sitting in chairs as much as possible.
Certain inverting exercise postures are beneficial in the treatment of varicose veins a they drain the blood from the legs and reduce pressure on the veins. They help to relax the muscles and allow the blood to flow freely in and out of the lower extremities.
