Do-It at Home Pedicure

Throughout the winters, your little feet stay inside your shoes, now since the time is up to flaunt flip flops and sandals, it’s time to pamper your feet and take care of them. Here are some easy tips to do your pedicure at home.

1. Soak your feet in warm water. Soaking your feet in warm water cleans your feet and softens them preparing them for exfoliation. Just because you are performing your pedicure, don’t cheat with yourself, soak for a good fifteen minutes to soften them. Before you soak your feet make sure you remove all the traces of your previous nail paint. To the water, add one teaspoon of tea tree oil, some Epsom salts, little bit of witch hazel and few drops of rosemary oil.

2. Scrub the dead skin. Once you have soaked your feet in water for a considerable time, you will notice the dead skin floating over your feet. Use exfoliating agents like sugar or salt crystals and massage each foot gently for at least two to three minutes. Starting from your ankles, move towards your toes, ankles and then calves with small circular motions.

3. Trim your nails and file them. There are many steel clippers available in the market, which are specialized for toenails which can be used straight away for trimming the nails. Next step would be to smooth the edges of the toenails with a nail file giving them a rounded shape in order to avoid ingrown nails.

4. Moisturize your feet and gently massage them. After scrubbing, your next step to pedicure is to moisturize them with a good cream containing Shea cream or cocoa butter and anti odor ingredients. Massage gently in a circular motion using a lot of cream.

5. Apply good nail paint. Once you are done with your home pedicure, apply good colored nail paint, preferably your favorite to give a delight to your feet and your personality. Your feet are just as important as other body parts so you must take special care for your feet.
