Curing Muscle Pain

Whatever the reason it is quite painful and you need to ease the pain.If your muscle pain is due to exercise then rest it out. Do not exercise for a few days depending on the severity of the pain. A muscle pain can take a long time to heal. The best thing to do is to put ice on the injured muscle so that you numb the area. Do not apply ice for too long. Put it for a few minutes and stop and continue through the day. If you have injured a muscle in the leg then it would be good to keep the elevated so as to prevent swelling.

You can also alternate between putting an ice pack and a heating pad. Be careful using a heating pad as you may burn the skin. If you have got a cramp you can try to stretch the muscle. Make sure to keep moving the muscle or else it will get stiff. Another thing you can try that is sure to ease the pain in the muscle is to massage the area with some hot oil or muscle relaxant ointment.

To prevent yourself from getting muscle pain make sure you keep changing positions whether you are sitting or lying down. If you happen to get muscle pain during running do not stop abruptly.

Gradually slow down. If you find yourself regularly suffering from muscle pain it may be because you are over weight. So try and shed a few pounds. Try changing your shoes if you are getting pain in the legs. Sometimes the reason for muscle pain is because you are not drinking enough or you need to add some salt to your diet.

When you exercise drink water that is mixed with sugar, salt and lemon so that your body replenishes the lost salts. Try to have a glass of coconut water once a week. Lastly make sure you do some strengthening exercises for the muscles.
