Curing Knee and Shoulder Joint Pains

Bursitis is also a joint pain which is almost  similar to arthritis. It usually affects the shoulder joints and the new joints. When it does strike a person it can be extremely painful, and is usually not detected in the actual sense very easily. There are some ways in which the pain caused by bursitis can be reduced by doing simple things at home.

Once the pain sets in, you tend to not move the shoulder. Doing this will only cause the shoulder to stiffen. In fact, continue exercising the shoulder and swing it around to ease the pain. This will make sure that it does not become stiff.

There are lots of medications that one can use to reduce the inflammation on the joints. You can also put ice packs on the area and do this repeatedly through the day. If the pain has not give within a day or two try using hot and cold compresses alternatively.

If you are into playing a racket sport and you find the pain increasing when you exercise, it is better to giv the shoulder or the knee a few days of rest. It should settle down in a period of about ten days.

You can also try spreading some warm oil, or better still, castor oil and then cover the area with a heating pad. This can be done when the pain and swelling is less severe as compared to when it started.

Besides resting it out, you can also do very simple and easy exercises at home. A good one that will help the pain and inflammation is to do the cat pose which will help you to actually stretch the affected area. Get down on all fours. This should be done on the ground so that you are on one level. Hang your head down and arch your back upwards. Hold this for a few seconds and slowly come down again. Alternatively, stand with your stomach against the wall and lift your hands to the ceiling taking support of the wall. This will give your shoulders and elbows a good stretch.
