Cures for Back pain

One of the commonly seen ailments of mankind is back pain. Many old people and those who may have to work several hours in front of the computers suffer from this problem. Even women suffer from this problem especially during menstruation.

According to experts at least 80% of people suffer from back pain at some point in their lives. The number of men suffering from it is slightly more than the number of women.

There are several causes that can lead to back pain namely poor alignment of the vertebrae, back muscle injury, arthritis, back muscle spasm, sciatica, fibromyalgia, sedentary living habits, problems with spine movement etc.

There are several remedies or natural cures that can be used to overcome back pain. Some causes for backache cannot be curable because it comes with ageing or arthritis related problems. You should not go in for treatment such as massage or manipulation unless an x-ray rules out the presence of a fracture, dislocation or prolapsed inter vertebral disc.

You must eat food rich in vitamin-C. Foods such as guava, cabbage, papaya, kiwi, Indian gooseberry etc have high content of natural vitamin-C. Out of these the best choice is the gooseberry which retains its richness of vitamins even when it is cooked. Another good remedy for back ache is garlic.

You can also consume two or three cloves every morning which is another excellent remedy for back pain. Garlic oil when rubbed on the back can also give relief from backache. Some people vouch that you can apply raw potato in the form of a poultice as it can give relief from severe back pain.

Another natural remedy for back pain is lemon. The patient can consume lime juice mixed with some common salt twice daily to get relief. You can also massage the area herbal oils which can release the discomfort within a few minutes.

You will also feel much relaxed and free of tension in the back area. You can also practice yoga for relieving back pain. You must seek good guidance and help from a yoga expert and take up the appropriate exercises for getting relief.
